Student Activity Program

Miriam College recognizes the integral role that the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities play in the students’ educational experience. In line with the vision-mission of the school, the Student Activity program aims to expand and develop students’ educational experience through a wide variety of activities and experiences.

The following are the non-academic offerings of MC MS:

Student Activities

Homeroom Program



 The Homeroom Program provides for the emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of the MC MS student. The homeroom adviser sees to it that students are ready for the academic tasks of the day during the daily 20-minute homeroom period. Opportunities for learning acceptable behavior, right attitude and values are explored, leadership skills are also honed.

Spiritual Formation Program



The Spiritual Formation Program provides avenues to exercise one’s Catholic faith and imbibe Marian virtues and values. A Campus Minister leads the community in its various spiritual formation activities, which include, Daily Mass, First Friday Mass, Living Rosary, Marian Journal Writing and class recollections for Lower and Middle School. Spiritual exercises like the First Holy Communion in Grade 2 and the Sacrament of Confirmation in Grade 7 are regarded by students and parents as most memorable occasions of grade school life.

Integrated Academic Celebrations



Integrated Academic celebrations are venues for showcasing student’ skills and application of concepts learned in the subject areas concerned. Some academic celebrations include, Buwan ng Wika at Kulturang Pilipino for Araling Panlipunan and Filipino, MusiCLE or Music and Christian Living Education, Literacy, Numeracy, and Technology Week for Reading, Language, Mathematics, Science, and Computer, ARCHeS Exhibits for Art, Computer, HELE and Science. 

Student Council



The school’s student government, is composed of elected class officers from Grades 5-8. These officers are authorized to assist teachers in the maintenance of student discipline in the level, and also act as liaison officers between the Executive Board officers and the students.


Clubs


Clubs are clustered according to performing arts, sports, academics, literary and journalism, and the arts. Yearly, there are about 40 clubs to choose from.


Field Trips



To enhance classroom learning, students are afforded first hand experiences during Field trips

Extra-Curricular Activities



To further hone the students’ talents and to explore avenues for creative expressions, the school highly encourages its students to participate in various Extra-curricular activities held outside the school. Athletic events such as, the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA), MILO BEST, Women’s basketball & Volleyball Leagues, Philippine Volleyball League have produced star athletes among our students. 

Kapitbahay Outreach Program


  The Kapitbahay outreach program aims to develop awareness and a strong sense of responsibility and caring attitude among our students. These Saturday interactions with poor communities across Loyola Heights are venues to share simple Math and English lessons, catechism, environmental awareness or simply eat and engage in play.
