We would like to hear from you!

I would like to inform the community that the construction of the Henry Sy, Sr. Innovation Center will be in full swing in the next few days.  The Henry Sy Foundation is funding the construction of the Center, which is expected to be completed in March 2016.

This project is spearheaded by my office.  I have requested Ms. Trixie Marie Sison to oversee the development phase of the project with Maria Cristina Ibañez.  Also involved in the project are the steering committees coming from the Basic Education and Higher Education units.

I would like to thank all those who supported and helped during the conceptualization of this project and I count on the community’s continuing support.

Please be informed of the following up-coming construction projects on campus:

1. Henry Sy, Sr. Innovation Center

Construction of the Henry Sy, Sr. Innovation Center is expected to begin in August 2015. During this period, the Peace Path will be closed while a temporary path, with pavers and light, will be made along the perimeter fence of Gate 1.

Palo Santo trees along the Peace Path will be balled and placed in a nursery inside the campus. These will be maintained by JSA, our grounds maintenance service provider, and will be replanted in the new Peace Path which will be incorporated in the Center’s site layout.  All necessary permits for the tree balling have been secured.

In addition, Meralco posts in the construction area will also be relocated opposite the current  college covered walk. The main billboard will be removed as well.

2. DPWH Road-Widening Project

To ease traffic flow along Katipunan Avenue, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has advised Miriam College of its Road-Widening Project. This will entail using portions of the school grounds along Katipunan Avenue, from the pedestrian gate beside Ateneo de Manila University up to Miriam College Gate 1.  MC is preparing the requirements of DPWH before it begins the project on December, 2015.

In connection with this, Banaba trees located along the perimeter fence will be balled and replanted along the perimeter fence between Gate 2 and Gate 3. All necessary permits for the tree balling have been secured.

We request the support and understanding of the community for the inconvenience that these development projects may cause.
