All 11 teams of Miriam College Middle School qualified for the World Scholar’s Cup Global Rounds 2017 after receiving top individual and team awards at the World Scholar’s Cup Manila Round 2017 held at Miriam College from February 5 to 6.
The team of grade 8 and 7 students composed of Audrey Jamito, Jodie Gail Sarmiento, and Benita Teresin Flores was awarded 3rd Place Champion Team in the Junior Division and second place in Debate. Sarmiento, was first place Champion Scholar and School Top Scholar in the said division, while Flores placed sixth in Debate and was chosen to participate in the Debate Showcase.
In addition, two other teams were awarded first place in the events of Collaborative Writing and Scholar’s Challenge. Aside from these, silver and gold medals were bagged by the students in all four events.
Prior to the event, the students were trained in the disciplines of Art, Music, Araling Panlipunan, Science, and English by teacher trainers from the Middle School.
