CROSS-ENROLLEES AND VISITING STUDENTS

Cross-Enrollment

A graduate student, who wishes to cross-enroll simultaneously for a course in another quality college/university, must secure approval from the Dean or Program Chairperson and meet the following requirements:

1.  Subjects to be cross-enrolled in must be those not offered in the Graduate School during the semester the request is made.

2.   If only one or two students need the course to graduate (or to complete their academic course work in order to qualify to take the Comprehensive Examination), they may be advised to cross enroll the course in another school, with the approval of the Program Chairperson or the Dean.

3.  Cross enrollment should be formally applied for.  The maximum units for cross-enrollment is six (6) units or two (2) subjects.

4.  The cross enrollment credits may be earned in only one accredited university. In no case should the student earn more than 9 units through cross enrollment to merit a degree from Miriam College.

Cross-Enrollment Procedure

1. Student submits cross enrollment permit from home school to Miriam College Graduate School together with the admission requirements:

    Resume
    1 pc. 2” x 2” colored picture
    Accomplished application for admission form

2. Interview with and recommendation by the program chairperson, associate dean and/or dean.

3. Student registers and enrolls like a regular Miriam College graduate student.

4. At the end of the semester, student-cross enrollee requests for an official transcript of records by filing a request form and paying the subsequent fees.

5. Miriam College Graduate School mails the official transcript to the home school or student-cross enrollee claims it to be submitted to the home school.

Visiting Students

Visiting students are those who are not formally admitted to a degree program but are permitted to take classes.  They are allowed to apply/register for at most two semesters or 12 units of course load without prejudice to reapplication for another 6 units.  Thereafter, they have to apply for a regular certificate or masters program.
