FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Institutional Financial Assistance (IFA) Program

1.  The IFA is available to deserving graduate students. These are in full or partial scholarships.

2.   An interested applicant must clearly state the reason for his/her request in writing and submit a copy of his/her income tax return (ITR).

3.   Applications are entertained during the months of April and May before the beginning of the school year.

4.   The applicant must demonstrate high academic performance, need for financial support, and continuity of enrollment towards completion of the graduate degree.

5.   A Scholarship Committee, composed of the Dean and Program Chairpersons, approves the applicants for the available scholarship slots for the current semester/year not later than one month after the last day of registration for the term for which financial assistance is applied for.
 

Fund for Assistance for Private Educators (FAPE)

Miriam College is an accredited FAPE Center. FAPE, through the College Faculty Development Fund program established by the Commission on Higher Education, provides scholarships for graduate degree programs for college faculty members and administrators from private colleges and universities.

   



Fr. Miguel Varela, S.J. Scholarship for Master of Science
in Environmental Studies

This is a scholarship provided by the PHINMA Foundation and MARIPOSA Foundation for master students in environmental studies.  The scholarship covers tuition fees of the master program.  One scholarship is awarded every year.

Besides the other requirements for acceptance to the program, the applicant for this scholarship must have had above average performance in her/his undergraduate program.

The applicant must submit the application form and requirements by June 1 prior to the school year applied for, as well as the following requirements.

a. official transcript of records
b. letters of recommendation
c. 1 pc. 2” x 2” colored picture

Take a written exam.

Submit himself/herself to a panel interview.

For a continuation of the Grant, the scholar must

  • enroll in the prescribed load every semester (9 units)
  • obtain grades of at least B+ or 1.5 in all subjects
  • have no Incomplete mark in any subject
  • continuously enroll until his/her thesis is defended

The Fr. Miguel Valera Scholarship

  • covers full tuition for the entire curriculum or 40 units needed for completion
    of a degree
  • extra residence time for extension of thesis work is not covered
  • if the grantee does not complete his/her masters degree in 5 years, he/she is required to pay back to the Graduate School the full amount spent for his/her scholarship including interest at the prevailing market rate


CARD (Center for Alcohol Research and Development) Foundation
Scholarship for Master Programs in Environmental Studies
and Environmental Management

This is a scholarship grant from the Center for Alcohol Research and Development Foundation.  This is offered to deserving students of the Masters in Environmental Studies and Environmental Management. The scholarship covers tuition fees of the master programs. One scholarship is awarded every year.

Besides the other requirements for acceptance to the program, applicant for this scholarship must have had above average performance in her/his undergraduate program.
