TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL PROGRAM

1. 2-YEAR TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL COURSES

Hotel and Restaurant Services (with 3 NC II)

This course is designed to cover all the competencies of Commercial Cooking NC II, Baking and Pastry Production NC II and Food and Beverage Services NC II. Integrated in the program are Housekeeping and Front Desk Management subjects.

Computer Hardware Servicing NC II

This course covers the required knowledge, skills and attitude of a Computer Service Technician in accordance with the industry standards. It covers competencies such as installing, maintaining, configuring and diagnosing computer systems and networks.

2. 1-YEAR TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL COURSES

Contact Center Services NC II (Customer Service Communication)

   

This course is designed to provide the trainee with optimal exposure to and functional practice in the English language through classroom sessions and alternative activities such as cultural tours, community immersions, and out-of-town leisure trips, where English is used as the medium of interaction.

Commercial Cooking NC II

This course is designed to enhance the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitude related to food preparation. It includes competencies such as cooking hot and cold meals, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, and preparing portion and plate meals to guests in hotels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, resorts and luxury lines.

Baking and Pastry Production NC II

This course is designed to enhance the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitude related to baking and pastry production. It covers competencies in preparing, portioning and plating pastries, breads and other desserts to guests in hotels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, resorts and luxury lines. It also includes maintaining cleanliness and food safety

Food and Beverage Services NC II

This course covers core competencies on operating a bar, preparing and mixing cocktails, providing link between kitchen and service areas, providing room service, providing food and beverage service, developing and updating of food and beverage knowledge, providing wine services and cleaning bar areas.

Food Processing NC II

This course is designed to enhance the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitude in processing foods by salting, curing, smoking, fermentation and pickling; and canning and bottling by using sugar concentration. It covers the preparation of equipment, tools, utensils, raw materials and other ingredients; and packaging of products.

Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II

This course is designed to enhance the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitude on core competencies such as, assemble/ disassemble consumer electronics products and systems, maintain and repair audio/ video products and systems, electronically-controlled domestic appliances and cellular phones in accordance with the industry standards.

Hairdressing NC II

This course is designed for a trainee to pursue a range of occupations associated with hairdressing services. It aims to provide the trainee with the knowledge, skills and attitude on core competencies such as, pre/post-hair care servicing, hair cutting for men and women, basic and creative hair cutting, basic and creative hair perming, hair and scalp treatment, hair reborn, hair bleaching, and basic and advanced hair coloring.

Beauty Care NC II

This course is designed for a trainee to pursue a range of occupations associated with beauty care services. The program provides experience in customer services such as shampooing, hand and foot spa, body massage, body scrub, facial treatment, manicuring, pedicuring and facial make up.

Dressmaking NC II

This course is designed to enable the trainee to draft and cut pattern on the material/fabric and apply finishing touches on the ladies' casual apparel such as dress, blouse, skirt, trousers, shorts and culottes.

Motorcycle /Small Engine Repair NC II

This course is designed to enhance the trainee's knowledge, skills and attitude of motorcycle /small engine mechanic in accordance with the industry standards. It covers core competencies such as, performing periodic maintenance, service carburetor and fuel system, service lubricating system, perform trouble shooting, service ignition system, service and repair exhaust system, service and repair suspension system, service and repair brake system, service wheels and tires service clutch system service electrical system, service final drive and service and repair cooling system of motorcycle /small engines.

Automotive Servicing NC II

This course covers the required competencies for a trainee to be able to inspect, clean and repair mechanical or electrical parts, components, assemblies and sub-assemblies of light and heavy-duty automotive vehicle with diesel or gas engine in accordance with the manufacturer's specification. It also covers engine tune up for both diesel and gasoline; servicing of engine mechanical components such as cooling and lubricating system; performing power train and underchassis servicing.
