Adult Education
One of the distinct
features of Miriam College is its educational program
for underprivileged adults and out-of-school youth.
Miriam Adult Education (MAE) sees itself
as a Christian instrument for persons seeking to
improve the quality of their lives.
MAE’s Academic Program provides students with
skills in all subject areas. Its Vocational Program
prepares students to become highly skilled middle-level
workers needed by industry and business. Lessons
and activities help students develop desirable values
with emphasis on work ethics, self-discipline, and
self-reliance. Support services such as guidance,
counseling, psycho-spiritual and value-formation
sessions are also provided to students.
In an effort to strengthen its vocational instruction,
MAE is accredited with the Technical Education
and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
MAE employs a group of committed and dedicated
administrators, faculty, and non-teaching personnel
who find extreme satisfaction in their roles as
educators of a unique yet disadvantaged sector of
society.
There are three administrators, one guidance counselor,
one librarian, three personnel and eighty-nine teachers.
Almost all of the members of the faculty are volunteer
teachers. About 52% of the faculty are from the different
units of Miriam College, 15% are public school teachers,
5% come from Ateneo, Loyola House of Studies and
28% from private corporations.
