COL 78 gifts alma mater with P1M for College Scholarships

College 1978, represented by Terry Sugay, Grace Agbayani, Margie Floirendo, Loy Tarectecan and Tina Advincula, came home to their alma mater to donate to scholarships at the Higher Education Unit.

In a message read by Tina, the ladies expressed their happiness in presenting this gift to MC. “On behalf of Class 1978, we are pleased to present to you our P1M donation to the Miriam College Foundation, Inc. for the College Scholarship program as our expression of gratitude and support to our Alma Mater and its many advocacies.” This is their second donation to the school, following their support of the Marian Auditorium upgrade through the seat donation several years ago.

Their class began reconnecting and being active when they celebrated their Silver Jubilee in 2003. “We had repeat performances in other milestone celebrations after that, the last of which was our presentation in 2018 for our Ruby year.” They remarked how dance practices not only challenged their bodies and memories, but also allowed them to “bask in the joy of renewing our friendships and reclaiming our youth.”

During the program, MC President Ambassador Laura Del Rosario emphasized how alumni support is key in the school’s development. On behalf of the school, Ambassador Del Rosario expressed her gratitude for the class’ continued support of their alma mater.

The turnover ceremony was also attended by VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Jasmin Galace, CBEA Dean Dr. Antonio Lopez, CAS Dean Dr. Margarita Acosta and CEd Dean Dr. Trixie Sison.
