TRUTH AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE/
AD HOC COMMITTEE ON DECORUM AND INVESTIGATION
Statement No. 3
September 25, 2020
The Ad Hoc Committee on Decorum and Investigation (AHC) is reviewing and investigating the #MCHSDOBETTER reports posted on social media, and those sent to the dedicated email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Towards this end, the AHC has been holding twice-weekly meetings/ investigative hearings with concerned students, parents, MC administration and faculty members. We shall be releasing to Miriam College our recommendations on each case, as each investigation is concluded.
To gather sufficient evidence and information to act on the complaints, we tried to reach out to the individuals who posted their concerns on social media. We wanted to encourage these members of our community, to come forward via MC’s dedicated safe spaces email, so that we could validate and clarify the incidents they narrated. The privacy settings of most of these socmed posters’ accounts did not allow our Secretariat to directly message them, while many others did not reply.
We also wish to clarify that the AHC cannot act on reported cases involving faculty members who are no longer connected with Miriam College. However, these experiences are taken into consideration as the Committee crafts its recommendations to Miriam College on how to do better and make MC a safer space for the community.
We reiterate our call to those who aired their complaints on social media, to help us act on your concerns. Please email your complaints to email@example.com. This way, we can contact you if needed, to shed more light on the incidents.
We shall await your response. If none is forthcoming, after Saturday, October 10, 2020, we shall act on your report based on your social media posts and on any other available information we can gather.
Again, we seek your prayers, patience and cooperation as we continue our mission to mindfully listen to the concerns of the MC Community.
