LOGO
The PX or Chi Rho symbolizes Christ, the great Teacher
of peace, justice and love. The dove is a universal
peace symbol. The circle is our world and Mother
Earth, the common home of all humans, whose unity
with the Earth and with each other is imperative
for a life of peace.
MISSION
The Center’s mission is to help advance a culture
of peace through education.
A culture of peace is a set of values, modes of
behavior and ways of life that reflects respect
for life and for human dignity, rejects violence
in all its forms, prevents violent conflicts by
tackling their root causes, and recognizes the importance
of cooperation, tolerance and dialogue.

OBJECTIVES
• To institutionalize and strengthen the peace education
thrust of Miriam College through faculty training,
curriculum development and student development programs.
• To help promote the culture of peace in the larger
society by sharing Miriam College’s inspiration,
knowledge and experience with other groups and educational
institutions, including those that are underserved.
• To network and develop partnerships with other
peace-oriented groups and with all people of goodwill
towards building a culture of peace.
