Postgraduate Certificate in Designing Education

The PGCert in Designing Education has been designed as an integral part of an international Master of Arts degree in Designing Education, delivered by Goldsmiths, University of London. These combined programmes offer a unique opportunity to explore the relationship between critical design thinking and critical pedagogy to uncover new areas for learning and teaching practice.

The PGCert in Designing Education provides the contemporary contextual modules/content that explore, and advance, teaching and learning practice in the Philippines and are foundational, and integral to progression to the full Master or Arts in Designing Education (MADE). PGCert is equivalent to 60 credits to the full MADE.

Master of Arts in Designing Education (MADE)

The MA in Designing Education is unique internationally as it enables students to explore the relationship between critical design thinking and critical pedagogy in order to uncover new areas for learning and teaching practice. The program re-visits and re-invigorates pedagogical practice through engaging with diverse fields of enquiry such as social justice, 21st century education and sustainable futures, in order to better understand how these may contribute to diverse learning contexts.

The MA in Designing Education supports learning in three key ways:

  • It allows for complimentary prior learning through an articulation process 
  • It develops understanding of how to design education through engagement with individual curriculum areas, educational systems and local government agendas 
  • It maximises access to international research expertise through practice based research

Application Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
  • Accepted applicant must take the IELTS Test. The required score is 6.5 overall with 6.5 in writing.
  • 1,500-word essay on School-based Innovation.
  • A panel interview with the Dean of the College of Education, Chairperson of the Child Development Education, and Director for Innovation Development

Goldsmiths College, University of London is a public research university specialising in the arts, design, humanities, and social sciences. It has for a length of time involved in teacher training and development in areas ranging from Creative and Social Technologies to Anomalistic Psychology.
