Four Miriam College administrators earned their doctorate degrees May this year after successfully defending their dissertations that covered topics on their respective fields.
Dr. Carlo Garcia, executive director of the Environmental Studies Institute, earned his PhD in Environmental Education while Dr. Malou Chavez, College Guidance supervisor, completed her PhD in Counselling. Both took their degrees in Miriam College.
Dr. Garcia and Dr. Chavez successfully defended their dissertations titled, “Kamanlilikha: A transcendental phenomenological inquiry on the lived experiences of Filipino environment leaders” and “Likas na Lakas: On-site Emotional Careers of Overseas Filipino Workers”.
Dr. Maricon Lupisan, Finance Division director, and Dr. Trixie Marie Sison, Child and Development Education chair and HEU Innovation coordinator, both completed their PhDs in Educational Management from De La Salle Araneta University.
Dr. Lupisan and Dr. Sison successfully defended their dissertations titled, “Budgeting Practices of a Private Educational Institution: Challenges in the Budget Preparation and Implementation” and “Early Childhood Educators’ Beliefs on Developmentally Appropriate Practices.”
