The Miriam College Middle School community celebrated Nutrition Week last July 25 to July 31 with the theme “Healthy Diet: Make it a Habit – for Life.”
Healthy eating was encouraged and observed among the students as they participated in the “Most Healthy Class Contest.” During mealtime, the teachers checked how many of their students were eating nutritious food. The Most Healthy Class winners were Grade 6-Gandingan, Grade 7-Tecson, and Grade 8-Mangyan. Each class was rewarded with a fruit basket.
The activity also featured the much-awaited Food Fair where Grade 8 students had a chance to cook, bake, and sell their own nutritious food. The proceeds from the sale became part of the class fund to finance a portion of the class expenses for the Lingap Kapwa activity, the Middle School Outreach Program.
Other activities included an interactive exhibit utilizing several tablet apps, and a Jingle Making Contest, wherein the winning entry was played over the public address system during the morning exercises.
The winning song was composed by Grade 7 students, Krystah Fajardo, Maryah Abinal, Jane Bautista, and Andrea Camaro.
