MAEntrepeneurs in action: Miriam Adult Education’s Business Fair 2019

Learning should not be boxed in the four corners of the classroom. Indeed, lessons are better learned when concepts are not simply defined nor discussed rather practiced through real-life experiences.

MAE held its annual Business Fair on February 14-15, 2019 at the MAE Training Center Grounds with the aim of practicing and enhancing the entrepreneurship skills of the Miriam Adult Education students. Participants were able to introduce a variety of business ideas such as selling and cooking mouth-watering food, blending thirst-quenching drinks, and offering quality salon and carwash services to the Miriam Community.

The two-day activity was graced by MAE Principal Glenda R. Villanueva. Along with her is the event’s special guest, Sr. Imelda V. Bautista, the Maryknoll Sisters’ representative to the Miriam College Board of Trustees. Sr. Bautista shared a heart-warming message to the MAEntrepreneurs,  emphasizing on the value of using one’s mother tongue to become successful in any endeavor. Meanwhile, the MAE student-entrepreneurs offered their free meals and drinks and a free manicure service at MAE’s Kulay Salon.

Entrepreneurial activities such as the annual MAE Business Fair is an effective avenue to enrich the knowledge and nourish the skills of our future business managers and owners. With that, MAE hopes that the Miriam Community will continue to show its unwavering support to MAE’s budding young entrepreneurs.
