When I was a little girl, I remember enjoying my pre-school days at the MC-Child Study Center (MC-CSC) because of the cozy pajama-like uniform, the tree house, and Learning Resource Center (LRC). Never did I imagine that Miriam College would be a great part of my life. I was a student of the Miriam College from pre-school to college, spending two years in CSC, seven in Grade School, four in High School, and another four in college. Miriam College truly became my second home.
After exploring the world outside the campus for three years, I am back serving my alma mater. Currently, I am a First Step teacher at the CSC. Being in this school for 17 years, I have treasured a lot of good memories that helped me become who I am today. Some of my most treasured memories are from my pre-school days. I will never forget how happy I was whenever our class would visit the LRC because I can be whoever I want to be there. I can be a mommy who goes to the grocery, a cashier that punches and packs all the groceries, a doctor who checks a baby who is sick, a teacher to my classmates and a lot more, all in just one day.
Another favorite memory is our CSC Play. Anyone who went to CSC will surely remember this activity because it is a “tatak CSC” activity. My mom would tell stories of me dancing or singing on top of our table or sofa or in front of my dolls. With the CSC Play, I get to perform not only in front of my dolls, but also in front of all the parents and of the entire CSC Community. I played the role of a pineapple during my nursery year and a baha (flood) during my kinder year. Even if I didn’t get a lead role, I’m still happy because I met a lot of friends. Recalling some of my best memories, I realized Miriam College helped me become the person I wanted to be , thank to my teachers and my alma mater—an institution that forms “women leaders in service.”
