In celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and in our continued commitment to the promotion of women empowerment and leadership in STEM, Miriam College is proud to collaborate with the American Spaces of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, American Film Showcase, and TESDA Women’s Center in hosting a special screening and discussion of the short documentary film “Gadget Girls” by Rise Sanders-Weir on Friday 26 February 2021, 2:00-3:00pm via Zoom. Get a chance to dialogue and interact with Audrey Pe, Founder and Executive Director of WiTech; Michie Ang, Co-Founder of Women Who Code Manila; and Miriam College’s own Ms. Celeste Joy Matias to speak on Miriam College’s innovations in “D.R.E.A.M.S.”.
This American Film Showcase is a project of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and produced by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts to highlight the importance of film in fostering understanding and cooperation.
