The Center for Peace Education (CPE) and Pax Christi of Miriam College (PC-MC) led members of the Miriam College community in opening the exhibit commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The exhibit panels came from partner organization, Soka Gakkai International-Philippines. It carried the theme “Everything You Treasure for a World Free from Nuclear Weapons".
It sought to remind viewers of ‘everything we treasure and how we need to protect these by abolishing nuclear weapons.’ The exhibit and the speakers' messages called on the community to strengthen their resolve to work for the "entry into force" of the TPNW or the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
The school, through the CPE and PC-MC, worked with other campaigners throughout the world in campaigning for the adoption of the TPNW.
In attendance were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Malou Baybay and College of Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Marge Acosta, faculty, and students. MC High School AP classes came to visit the exhibit on its opening day.
