OFFICE ASSISTANT | Higher Education Unit

The Library Media Center of the Higher Education Unit (HEU-LMC) seeks an Office Assistant.  

The Office Assistant reports directly to the LMC Supervisor.  The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Encode resource information in the Library automation database.
  • Assist and guide library users with their inquiries utilizing of Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and other library retrieval devices
  • Assist in the following services:
    1. Processing of newly acquired books, shelf reading & inventory of library supplies and other reading materials
    2. Reservation of discussion rooms
    3. Locker Area
    4. Issuance of library clearance
  • Relieve and assist in the service areas during break time and peak hours  
  • Handle requests for office supplies, maintenance and repair of furniture and equipment
  • Safekeep library records and reports
  • Coordinate with the Information and Communication Technology Office (ICTO) regarding computer needs and requests
  • Prepare reports, statistics, and handles correspondence for donated books
  • Perform other duties as maybe assigned by the supervisor for the smooth operation of the LMC

The Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) is in need of System Programmers.
The System Programmers develop software applications and content-managed web sites to support the school’s software application needs, and communication goals and objectives.  The Software Programmers develop software programs and codes/scripts of application software in accordance with client/server-based application development methodology for the school, and maintain institutional software applications and provide software development support for all in-house, packaged, and outsourced-developed computerized systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop software applications and web-based internet and intranet sites of the school
  • Debug, fix, maintain, troubleshoot, and refine programs developed based on testing results
  • Write new program code, updates, and revisions using prescribed and approved specifications based on approved system requests (SR), utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technologies
  • Develop interface programs for various application software and databases in the school
  • Conduct user training of application systems
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

The candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering courses with minimum three (3) years experience in software and web development, programming methodologies, design, and implementation.

Job Description

  1. Develop and implement a program of activities relevant and appropriate for students in her level. 
  2. Gather, record, and safeguard individual student files.

  4. Conduct quarterly guidance classes in her level.

  6. Assist the Guidance Supervisor and Psychometrician in administering, scoring and interpreting student admissions tests and teacher applicants’ tests
