RECORDS ASSISTANT | Higher Education Unit

The Higher Education Unit Registrar’s Office seeks a Records Assistant.

The Records Assistant reports to the Registrar. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Handle and maintain the accuracy and confidentiality as well as updating of undergraduate students’ records with surnames starting with A to K:
    1. Process changes in the students’ registration form (adding/dropping/change of section/course shifting).
    2. Encode in the system credited subjects of transfer students.
    3. Proofread and verify reports/documents prior to release to clients. 
    4. Update the clearance status/profile of students.
    5. Scan documents to update student records.
    6. Report to the Registrar/ASRC any discrepancy or concerns related to student records being handled.
  • Assist the Academic Services and Records Coordinator (ASRC) during pre-registration, registration and post-registration activities. 
  • Attend to client inquiries, issue forms, receive requests for TORs, certifications, diplomas, copy of grades and facilitate release of documents to clients.

LIBRARIAN | Higher Education Unit

The Higher Education Unit (HEU) Library Media Center seeks a Librarian. 

The HEU Librarian reports directly to the HEU Library Media Center Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities of the Librarian are as follows:

  • Implement library programs;

RESEARCH PROGRAM COORDINATOR

General Function and Responsibility:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Research, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing research capability-building training seminars and colloquium, and producing research publications.

Specific Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the institutional activities related to research skills upgrading of members of Miriam College community;
  2. Document research seminars and prepare seminar reports;
  3. Coordinate the implementation of yearly institutional research colloquium;
  4. Take charge of the Center advocacy activities such as campaigns, news releases, website  and bulletin board announcements and other marketing collaterals;
  5. Assist the Executive Director in identifying reviewers/referees for articles submitted to LEAPS Faculty Research Journal;
  6. Assist the reviewers/referees of journal articles in the use of Electronic Research Management System (ERMS);
  7. Consolidate review results on articles submitted thru the ERMS and coordinate with authors on comments of reviewers;
  8. Coordinate with Issue Editor on the articles for editing;
  9. Prepare the layout of the journal issue;
  10. Coordinate with ASD and the printer on the printing requirements;
  11. Perform such other duties as may be required by the Executive Director from time-to-time.
     

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in any related research field is an advantage.

LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER SUPERVISOR | Higher Education Unit

The Higher Education Unit (HEU) Library Media Center (LMC) seeks an LMC Supervisor.  The LMC Supervisor ensures the development, administration, evaluation and implementation of the instructional resources and related media program of the LMC and reports directly to the Academic Support and Student Services Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan for the development of library resources and services to include reading and audio-visual (AV) materials.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate library policies and rules to support the teaching-learning needs by maintaining close relationships with administrators, faculty members, students, and other members of the Miriam College Community in coordination with other unit libraries.
  • Plan and implement the unit’s media program policies on proper administration and maintenance of software and hardware collection and services.
  • Direct the operations of the Higher Education LMC and supervise the work of the professional librarians, and library and audio-visual support staff. 
  • Prepare annual reports, memoranda, studies and collection analysis, conduct surveys, and evaluates the LMC services.
  • Act as Chairperson of the Library Committee and keep track with national library developments by attending and participating in conferences, workshops, and seminars, and by reading professional literature
  • Coordinate the selection, and distribution of materials and equipment. 
  • Oversee the improvement and development of the LMC’s resources and physical facilities.
  • Supervise the annual inventory of LMC materials and equipment.
  • Prepare the Library Media Center budget.

The candidate should be a licensed Librarian with Master’s Degree in Library Science and at least five (5) years supervisory experience in all areas of  library and media services.
