Psychology major in Gerontology

The MC Psychology Graduate Program offers thesis and non-thesis masteral-level degrees with concentration in Gerontology. These programs emphasize on the study of aging and the provision of services to help older adults effectively deal with stressors common in later life. Stressors such as loss of loved ones, relocation, medical conditions, care-giving demands, change in employment status, and poverty all significantly affect the health and independence of older adults. Specialists in Gerontology address these and other issues through research and services covering family relationships, memory, sexuality, health promotion, and community-based initiatives.
