LANGUAGE LEARNING CENTER

Program Offerings for BEU Students

The Language Learning Center provides quality instructional services to both male and female, local and international, young and adult learners who wish to develop their proficiency in English and other foreign languages. Lessons and activities are designed for beginner to advanced learners to ensure maximum involvement in a virtual classroom. LLC also offers other services such as editing and translation services.

GRADES 4-5: Foreign Languages for Young Learners (FLYL)

Languages: Mandarin, French, Nihongo, Spanish

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • identify the letters of the alphabet of the target language
  • produce the correct sounds associated with each letter of the target language
  • say greetings and leave-takings 
  • introduce one’s self and one’s family
  • say one’s nationality 
  • count from 0-100
  • identify the days of the week
  • say one’s age

Participants/Learners: MC Grades 4-5 students
Program Duration:12 hours
Program Fee: PHP 2,000 per student

Number of students: 

  • Minimum No. of students per class: 5
  • Maximum No. of students per class: 10
13 YEARS OLD & ABOVE: Foreign Languages

Languages:

  • Mandarin
  • French
  • Nihongo
  • Spanish
  • Korean

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • use the target language in various real-life settings
  • develop an appreciation for the target language
  • understand the culture of the country of the target language

Requirement: Miriam College students who are 13 years old and above

Program Duration: The Foreign Language Program runs for 30 hours.

Program Fee and Minimum No. of Participants:

  • PHP 13,500 per student (for one-on-one online class)
  • PHP 3,750 per student (for a minimum of 4 participants, maximum of 10 participants per online class)
FOREIGN STUDENTS: English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

Requirement: Miriam College students who are 10-17 years old

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • speak with better clarity, fluency, and accuracy
  • engage in social exchanges using the target language
  • write varied outputs which are suitable to purpose and audience
  • demonstrate accurate use of English language in speaking, listening, reading, and writing tasks

Program Duration: The ESL Program runs for 30 hours.

Program Fee and Minimum No. of Participants:

  • PHP 13,500 per student (for one-on-one online class)
