In line with the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Miriam Adult Education (MAE), Kulay Salon was launched last August 8 at the MAE Training Center. The launch was spearheaded by MAE principal, Glenda R. Villanueva.
KULAY Salon is an incubation space where Beauty Care NC II and Hairdressing NC II students can practice the theories and skills learned from their classes. The space will help students meet the standards of the TESDA National Assessment and, consequently, the demands of the work industry through work practice. Proceeds of KULAY Salon will help fund more scholars. It, likewise, serves as an avenue where students render return service to complement the school’s effort in supporting their education.
Kulay, the brand, represents the colorful and inspiring stories of MAE students who are able to find hope amidst challenges and hardships in life.
Guests, MC administrators, and MAE students present at the launch were welcomed by Althea Supleo, MAE Student Council President for S.Y. 2016-2017. This was followed by an inspiring spoken word poetry titled, “Bahaghari: Ang Daan Kong Tinahak” by Janreyk P. Gerona, MAE Grade 12 student. Maria Christita C. Polinag served as the master of ceremonies.
Father Rolando Jaluag, Diocesan, blessed the salon. The event ended with attendees enjoying the coffee concoctions of the MAE Barista NC II class and assorted pastries prepared by the MAE Senior High School-Technical Vocational students under the guidance of their trainers, Jasmin Abueva, Micah Ramos, and Frida Santiago.
Pampering services of Kulay salon include hair treatments and body care and wellness. The MC community can visit the salon and avail of services from Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 7:00PM.
