The students of the Foreign Languages for Young Learners (FLYL) Program celebrated their language milestones through a culminating activity held last October 6, 2018. The 12-hour language program, facilitated by Yolande Cruz (French), Karl Go (Mandarin), Kyung In Lee (Nihongo), and Sr. Fatima Aguayo (Spanish), focused on the teaching of familiar everyday expressions, basic phrases, and cultural awareness. Games, songs, role-play in the target languages were utilized to reinforce the lessons.

The event was an opportunity for the students to showcase their breakthrough spoken competency through self-introductions and presentations which include the singing of It’s a Small World in five different languages. The event also featured Jhames Labrador who rendered soulful pieces on violin while the students gave gratitude cards to their respective parents.

The event was hosted by Ms. Grace Annette Soriano, Program Officer of the Language Learning Center.
