On November 8-13, 2019, students from Miriam College High School (MCHS) are competing in the World Scholar’s Cup 2019 Tournament of Champions to be held in the Yale University Campus in New Haven, Connecticut. A total of 13 participants from Grades 10 and 11 have qualified to this final round after competing in the Global Round held in Manila in September. These students are: Sarah Tatiana Alampay, Alyssa Francesca Alarilla, Samantha Centeno, Alyanna Therese De Leon, Benita Teresin Flores, Regina Maria Jaramillo, Illyssa Kong, Maria Charmane Rose Naciongayo, Julia Angelene Perez, Stephanie Salonga, Filan Tango, Mary Jennycis Tinio, and Astrud Ulili. Two students from Miriam College Middle School (MCMS) have moved up to the Senior Division to complete the five-team lineup: Kristen Mariel Dioko and Riana Nicole Valdez.

This is the fourth straight year that MCHS teams have become part of the Tournament of Champions (TOC), and 2019 has the biggest delegation yet. In the opening ceremony, Daniel Berdichevsky, founder of the World Scholar’s Cup program, has proclaimed this the biggest TOC since it has begun holding it annually in 2012.
