Cristina Rowena “Candy” Salcedo Padilla earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education from the UP College of Education in Diliman and her Master's Degree in Child and Family Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University.

She is a practicing Reading specialist, Learning support, and a Faculty Development consultant of a private school in Marikina.

As a part-time faculty, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the Child Development and Special Education Departments of the College of Education in Miriam College.

Having been in the field of literacy instruction for 22 years, Ms. Salcedo has had extensive experience in developing literacy programs, teacher training, reading assessment, diagnosis, and instruction of students with learning and reading difficulties in the classroom and individualized reading therapy.
