Biography

Dr. Gail Reyes-Galang finished her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1991. She continued her MA studies in Counseling Psychology at the same university, writing her thesis about academically gifted children.

While serving Miriam College in various administrative capacities since the year 2000, she completed her doctorate studies in the same college, this time specializing in Child and Family Studies with a dissertation about blended families.

After her term as Principal of the Miriam College Grade School in 2014, she served as Head of the Institutional Partnerships and Programs Office handling local and international linkages, career development programs, and alumni affairs. In 2019, Dr. Galang was appointed Associate Director of the Center for Peace Education (CPE) and Chair of the Ph.D. Family Studies program at the Higher Education Unit. She also teaches in the Department of Psychology. 

Dr. Galang is the executive producer of “Our Peaceful Classroom,” which can be accessed through the MC Family Studies Youtube Channel. Articles she has written can be found in Smart Parenting, where she sits as part of its Board of Experts. From 2020-2022, she was president of the Maryknoll/Miriam College Alumni Association (MMCAA).
