Biography

Karl is an educator specializing in Mandarin language instruction. He utilizes a synthesis of linguistic theories and practical methods to develop Mandarin language competence in students. With experience within both the academic and corporate realms, he emphasizes actual language applications and concrete competency metrics in his approach to language learning.

One of his interests is playing board games, which he utilizes within the classroom as language simulation tools and teaching aids. He also teaches martial arts, and has been immersed in the practice of taiji for over twenty years. He is also knowledgeable in Chinese philosophy and feng shui.
