Biography

Dr Melissa Paulita Mariano is currently an assistant professor and research coordinator in Psychiatry at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center. She received her Master’s Degree in Molecular Medicine from the St Luke’s College of Medicine, Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc., and her Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery where she graduated magna cum laude. She has recently completed her fellowship training in clinical research and is currently an associate editor at the UERM Health Sciences Journal. Throughout her training, she has received a number of national and international awards, including, but not limited to the Young Psychiatrists Fellowship Award, JSPN Fellowship Award, and Dean Fernando Sanchez Research Award. She serves as the Vice President of the Philippine College of Psychopharmacology, is currently a fellow of the Philippine Psychiatric Association, and is an active member of the Asia Pacific Society of Human Genetics and the Asian College of Neuropsychopharmacology. Her primary research interests lie in the fields of psychopharmacology and molecular psychiatry.
